Her group also helped Food At First with our meal on Friday. Head over to our Facebook page and see the pictures of the wonderful food provided! If you want more information on Feed Iowa 1st go to http://www.feediowa1st.org/ It is a great organization!!
Construction Update:
It has taken longer than expected to complete the range installation. Our wonderful head Chefs have been great in coming up with alternative ways in getting the meals done!! Without them, FAF would have been facing a difficult situation, next time you see one of our Head Chefs, let them know how appreciated they truly are!!
Summertime Volunteers:
I know that it is summertime and I know that means family vacations, outdoors, and all the fun activities but, please don’t forget about us, without our volunteers, our program is not possible. It is YOU that helps to make this program possible. It is YOU that helps us to make sure that everyone that needs a meal is receiving one. It is YOU that we need to continue to sign up and help us to help those that are hungry. So please, just take a moment and click http://www2.mysignup.com/cgi-bin/view.cgi?datafile=faf see if there is a time or times that you can sign up. There are many open slots available.
Ames Farmer’s Market:
We have begun the Farmer’s Market on Main Street again. There were over 40 vendors!! Main Street has really outdone themselves! What does this mean for FAF? Well, not only do we get to glean from the wonderful vendors but we also are able to have a booth there! What better way to get the word out about FAF than to have a booth at a Farmer’s Market!! Not only was there great vendors but there was great music to listen to as well!! This is the link to check that out! http://amesmainstreetfarmersmarket.com/ What this means to you? Well we are in need of volunteers to “man our booth”. It is very easy and if you want more information email me at tasha@foodatfirst.com
I think that is it for this update. I will keep you posted on upcoming happenings at FAF!!!
If you have any questions or concerns email me at tasha@foodatfirst.com
